Decade-Warranty Aluminium Maintenance
Our 10-year workmanship warranty on aluminium installation: what it covers, why correctly installed aluminium lasts, and the QA discipline that backs the guarantee. Aluminium Installers Ghana, Accra since 1988.
A warranty is only as good as the work behind it — and a 10-year workmanship warranty on aluminium installation is only honest if the survey, fabrication and install were controlled from the start. Aluminium Installers Ghana has fabricated and installed aluminium across Greater Accra since 1988, and our decade-long guarantee is a commercial promise we can make because of how the work is done, not in spite of it.
Why a 10-Year Workmanship Warranty Is Possible
Correctly installed aluminium genuinely lasts. The metal does not rust, and an anodised or powder-coated/PVDF finish is engineered for years of weathering in Ghana’s climate. The failures people fear — leaks, loose fittings, finishes letting go — are almost always installation faults, not material faults: the wrong fixings, poor sealant detailing, or anchors that ignored thermal movement. Control those, and a decade-long workmanship guarantee becomes a reasonable, honest commitment rather than a sales slogan.
Choosing a Warranty You Can Rely On
The value of any warranty is in its clarity and in who stands behind it. A vague “guaranteed for years” with no written terms is worth little. We separate our workmanship warranty from the product warranties on the aluminium, coating and glass, put both in writing at handover, and name who fixes what. That clarity is the point — you should never have to argue about whether a defect is covered.
Scope of Our Decade Warranty
What the Workmanship Warranty Covers
Defects traceable to how we fabricated and installed — failed seals, water ingress at our joints, fixings working loose due to installation. This is the commercial guarantee we issue on our own work.
Product Warranties (Separate)
The aluminium extrusion, the anodised/powder-coated/PVDF finish and any glass carry the manufacturer’s own product warranties with their own terms. We document these alongside ours so the two are never confused.
The QA That Backs It
Survey, specification, controlled fabrication and install to EN 1090 execution discipline, staged inspection and written handover — the quality assurance that makes a 10-year promise defensible.
Maintenance & Inspection
Simple periodic cleaning and inspection of seals, drainage and moving parts, set out in writing, with optional planned inspection visits to catch issues early.
Workmanship Warranty vs Product Warranty
| Aspect | Our workmanship warranty | Manufacturer product warranty |
|---|---|---|
| What it covers | How we fabricated and installed | The aluminium, coating or glass itself |
| Who issues it | Aluminium Installers Ghana | The extrusion / coating / glass maker |
| Typical claim | Failed seal, loose fixing, joint leak | Finish defect, material fault |
| Backed by | EN 1090 execution + our QA | The manufacturer’s own terms |
(Both are documented in writing at handover so there is never confusion about which warranty applies to a given issue.)
How We Back the Warranty
- Specify and survey before we commit — structure surveyed, aluminium grade, finish and fixings confirmed and written down.
- Fabricate and install to a controlled standard — EN 1090 execution discipline, correct anchors, sealants and tolerances.
- Inspect and document at handover — staged inspection, installation and materials recorded, warranty terms issued in writing.
- Stand behind it for ten years — workmanship defects put right under the warranty for the full term.
Materials & Real Standards
- EN 1090 — execution of aluminium structures; EN 1090-3 covers aluminium, with Execution Classes EXC1–EXC4 defining the level of control applied to the work
- ASTM E283 / E331 / E330 — air, water and structural/wind-load performance for façade and glazed elements, where applicable
- AAMA 501 family — façade test methods (e.g. 501.1 dynamic water) where performance is specified
- Aluminium finishes — anodised, powder-coated or PVDF, each carrying its own manufacturer product warranty
- The 10-year warranty itself — a commercial workmanship guarantee issued by Aluminium Installers Ghana; it is not an industry or international standard, and we say so plainly
What Affects the Cost
- The scope of work being warranted and its complexity
- Aluminium grade, finish and the quality of fixings and sealants specified
- Whether planned inspection visits are included in the agreement
- Site access and the building type
- Area and programme
Aluminium installation and its decade warranty are quoted on survey — the scope, the finish and the specification decide the figure, and the warranty terms are set out in writing alongside the quote rather than promised verbally.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the 10-year warranty actually cover? It is a workmanship warranty covering defects traceable to how we fabricated and installed — failed seals, water ingress at our joints, fixings working loose. It is a commercial guarantee we issue, separate from any manufacturer product warranty on the aluminium, coating or glass, which carry their own terms. We make that distinction clear at handover.
Why can you warrant aluminium for ten years? Because correctly installed aluminium genuinely lasts — it does not rust, and an anodised or PVDF finish is built for long-term weathering. Most early failures are installation, not the metal. When survey, fabrication and install are controlled, a decade-long workmanship warranty is an honest commitment.
Is the warranty a recognised standard? No. The 10-year warranty is our own commercial guarantee of our workmanship, not an industry or international standard. The execution is governed by standards — EN 1090 for aluminium, ASTM E283/E330/E331 and AAMA 501 for façade performance — but the warranty is our promise, not a certification.
What maintenance keeps the warranty valid? Periodic cleaning and inspection of seals, drainage and moving parts. We set out the simple maintenance expectations in writing at handover and offer planned inspection visits so issues are caught early. Reasonable upkeep keeps the guarantee meaningful for the full term.
