Specialty Aluminium Fabrication
Bespoke aluminium fabrication for Ghana: custom architectural metalwork, one-off assemblies, balustrades, canopies, screens and feature elements — designed, made and installed to a named specification. Aluminium Installers Ghana, since 1988.
Specialty aluminium fabrication is bespoke architectural metalwork — pieces designed, detailed, made and installed for one specific situation rather than pulled off a shelf. Balustrades, canopies, entrance features, screens, brackets and one-off assemblies. Aluminium Installers Ghana has fabricated and installed architectural aluminium across Ghana since 1988, taking work from design intent through to a finished, fixed piece under one accountable trade.
Why Bespoke, Not Catalogue
A standard product is made to fit the average opening and the average load. A real building rarely offers either. A balustrade has to clear a specific stair, meet a guarding height, and carry a specific load; a canopy has to span a specific entrance, shed water, and resist wind uplift; a feature screen has to match a particular elevation and pattern. Bespoke fabrication starts from those constraints and designs the metalwork to them — so the piece fits, performs and looks the way it was drawn, instead of being forced to fit a product that was never meant for the job.
Choosing a Bespoke Fabricator
The decision is single accountability: one trade that surveys, designs, details, makes and installs — so there is no gap between the drawing and the fixed piece, and one party answers for the result.
What We Fabricate
Balustrades & Handrails
Custom aluminium balustrades and handrails for stairs, landings, balconies and walkways — guarding-height compliant, with glass, perforated, vertical-bar or solid infill, detailed for load and for a clean line.
Canopies & Entrance Features
Bespoke aluminium canopies, porte-cochères, walkway covers and entrance features — designed to span the opening, shed water and resist wind uplift, with concealed fixings where the look demands it.
Architectural Screens & Louvres
One-off decorative and functional screens, brise-soleil and louvre assemblies — solar-shading, privacy and feature elements built to the elevation rather than to a standard module.
One-Off Assemblies & Custom Metalwork
Brackets, frames, cappings, cladding sub-frames, trims and bespoke assemblies — the custom pieces a project needs that no catalogue carries, detailed and made to the specification.
Bespoke vs Catalogue Fabrication Compared
| Catalogue product | Bespoke fabrication | |
|---|---|---|
| Fit | Standard module, adapted on site | Made to the surveyed opening |
| Design | Fixed range | To the architect’s / project’s intent |
| Load & detailing | Generic | Detailed for the specific load and movement |
| Accountability | Split (supply vs fit) | Single trade, design-to-install |
| Finish | Stock options | Anodised / powder-coated to spec |
(Many projects mix both — bespoke elements tying standard systems together. The split is agreed on survey.)
How We Take a Bespoke Piece From Design to Install
- Brief, survey & design intent — what the piece does and where it goes, surveyed and turned into a buildable scheme.
- Detail, profile selection & shop drawings — alloy, profile/plate, joints, fixings and movement allowance drawn and approved.
- Fabricate — cut, form, weld (TIG/MIG) or mechanically joint and assemble, with multi-stage checks against the drawings.
- Finish, install & hand over in writing — anodised or powder-coated, installed to the approved detail, specification handed over.
Materials & Real Standards
- Aluminium alloys — architectural extrusion, sheet and plate in marine-suitable grades for Ghana’s coastal humidity, selected for strength, formability and finish
- EN 1090 — execution of aluminium structures (-1 conformity/CE, -3 aluminium; Execution Classes EXC1–4) for load-bearing balustrades, canopies and structural assemblies
- Joining — TIG/MIG welding for continuous and structural joints; bolted, riveted and bracketed mechanical fixing for demountable connections and differential movement
- Finishes — anodising (natural, bronze, champagne, black) and powder coating to RAL/Pantone, specified in writing and applied for durability and colour retention
What Affects the Cost
- Complexity of the piece — geometry, spans, structural load and the number of one-off details
- Alloy, profile or plate thickness, and the quantity made
- Joining method (welded vs mechanically fixed) and any structural engineering required
- Finish specified (anodised vs powder-coated, special colours)
- Installation access, height and any temporary works
Bespoke fabrication is quoted on survey — the design, load, finish and access decide the figure. We never quote “cheap,” and we never down-spec the alloy, the thickness or the finish without telling you.

Frequently Asked Questions
What counts as specialty or bespoke aluminium fabrication? Anything made to a specific design rather than a standard catalogue: custom architectural metalwork, one-off assemblies, balustrades, canopies, entrance features, decorative screens and bespoke frames — designed, detailed, made and installed for that situation.
Can you fabricate from an architect’s drawing or just a sketch? Both. We work from full architect or engineer drawings, and we also develop a sketch, photo or design intent into approved shop drawings with the alloy, profile, joints and fixings detailed before fabrication.
How do you join aluminium — welding or mechanical fixing? Both, chosen by the piece. We weld (TIG/MIG) where a continuous or structural joint is needed, and mechanically fix where a demountable connection or differential movement is wanted — detailing the joint, fixings and movement allowance on the shop drawings.
Do you handle design, fabrication and installation together? Yes — design-to-install under one accountable trade. We survey, detail, fabricate, finish, install and hand over the specification in writing. Single accountability from brief to handover is the point of a bespoke fabricator.
